Intern project

In 2022 Summer, I worked as UX Design Intern on YouTube Ads team in Google LA office. My intern project was to explore visual design concepts that help modernize ad formats and enhance ad viewing experience on YouTube. I also conducted UX studies with 600 real YouTube users in collaboration with UX researchers.

Impact

I came up with a broad set of design ideas, including changing the information architecture and creating new illustrations and animations. One of my ideas was validated by 600 real YouTube users and received the highest modern scores out of all of the YouTube Ads Team’s design ideas. I was able to show the team the design possibilities and how far we could push boundaries while keeping users happy. 

Learning

During my internship, I got valuable chances to attend design sprint and workshops to brainstorming creative solutions for YouTube Ads with the team together.

Having Fun

I got chances to attend many in-person Google LA events and met awesome designers, researchers, engineers, and managers from various teams to learn about their teams and cultures.
